Purpose
I have been in the wine business in BC for over 20 years, the last 8 of which have been as the Director of Buying for a chain of liquor stores.
It’s easy to find a $50 that will blow your hair back, the hard part is weeding through the thousands of wines under $20 that to find the ones that will do the same.
For a number of years, although I was tasting thousands of wines, I did have an incentive to promote the wines that I carried, as I no longer have any affiliation to any liquor stores, wineries or importers, I finally feel free to tell it like it is.
I hope you will find these notes useful and I look forward to your comments about each one and how I can improve.
Cheers

I would be interested in your thoughts on the wines from Salt Spring Island.

Richard;
To be honest I haven’t tried the wines from Salt Spring island in a couple of years. I would be happy to give the current vintages available on the market a whirl.
I will make some contacts and see what happens.
Cheers

This is the best blog by the way! Thank you for this. I use it often and my husband and I are always looking for great wines under $20. Love knowing where to find them too.

I am so glad I found this blog as there is not many out there on the internet about finding true value wine, especially in BC. I took your advice on several of the “Best buy” and “WOW” category; and I totally concurred! Now, I whenever I need to stock up, I’ll just do some deep diving research on your blog for great suggestions.
I cannot stand the BC Liquor monopoly. I have decided not buy from BC Liquor unless absolutely necessary.
Anyway, please keep the reviews coming. I wish to donate more than $1 to your awesome blog. How do I go about doing that?
